The Watt Gallery has been established to showcase and sell the paintings and drawing in the form of Giclee Prints, to give many people the opportunity to own artwork at an affordable price. Many of you are already familiar with William (Bill) Watt’s work, but for our first time visitors, we would like to give you brief introduction into his background and education.

Bill, a native of Pennsylvania, started his art career very early in the 3rd grade, when he received a scholarship to attend Tam O’Shanter art classes at the Carnegie Art Institute in Pittsburgh.

After graduating from High School and Military Service, Bill attended several Colleges and Universities to hone his skills. He studied at Carnegie, Mexico City College, USC and received his BA degree at San Fernando State College.

On the advice of his professors he attended another four year program again, in Painting and Drawing and graduated at Otis Art Institute with a BFA and MFA Degree. Bill worked as an Artist and private teacher. He also spent some working vacations in Europe and some of his work is influenced by that travel. Bill sold his work to private collectors here and in Europe.

He was one of 20 artists selected to paint a mural for the Los Angeles inner city Mural program. This was sponsored by a grant from the National Endowments for the Arts. “The Reunion” is a black and white impressionistic 12 by 22 foot view of a family gathering. The rich complex of shapes and textures has attracted many, while it took shape and form and later after its completion. We have included a picture of the Family Re-union in the drawing gallery.
